FedEx opens new facility in Legnica to boost regional logistics

FedEx has officially opened a new facility in Legnica, Poland, aimed at strengthening regional logistics and connecting local businesses to its global network spanning 220 markets.

Located at CTPark on Śmigłowcowa Street, the site sits in a key business zone near a special economic area and offers direct access to the A4 motorway, S3 expressway, and Katowice Airport. The facility nearly quadruples warehouse space to 2,350 m² and features advanced sorting systems, 40 courier ramps, and additional lines for palletized shipments.

“This investment marks a significant step in strengthening our operational capabilities in the region,” said Mariusz Mik, vice president ground operations, Nordics, Eastern Europe, FedEx. “Its strategic location near key transport routes and the German border—Poland’s largest trading partner—positions us to further develop cross-border logistics. It also enables us to offer more flexible, competitive services, and improve overall supply chain efficiency for our customers.”

The Legnica facility also introduces new capabilities, including the handling of dangerous goods, catering to customers in the chemical, automotive, and industrial sectors. Designed with input from the local FedEx team, it meets strict company standards and provides modern working conditions for nearly 50 employees, with easy access to public transport.
