Prologis Boosts London Footprint with New Waltham Abbey Acquisition

Prologis UK has expanded its London portfolio with the purchase of a 24-acre development site in North London, the company confirmed today. Situated just south of Waltham Abbey and moments from Junction 26 of the M25, the site offers strong transport links to Central London and the national motorway network—an increasingly valuable position for last-mile logistics and urban supply chain operations.

The acquisition aligns with Prologis’s strategy to focus investment in high-demand, high-value locations. According to the company, the land presents an opportunity to deliver modern, sustainable advanced manufacturing and logistics facilities designed to meet evolving supply chain requirements.

The area is already a major logistics hub, home to a cluster of national and international distribution operators. Sainsbury’s Waltham Point Distribution Centre borders the site, while GXO, Ocado, Iceland, Tesco and John Lewis all operate nearby.

Paul Weston, Regional Head, Prologis UK, said: “This acquisition underscores our conviction in the Greater London market. Waltham Abbey is already a well-established logistics location, and this site gives us the ability to bring forward sustainable, best-in-class space that supports our customers’ growth while creating employment opportunities and attracting investment for the local community.”

Master planning for the development is currently underway, with Prologis emphasising sustainability, design quality and integration with the local community. The company said it will work closely with local stakeholders throughout the planning process to ensure long-term community benefits.

JLL advised Prologis on the deal, while ACRE Capital Real Estate acted on behalf of the seller.
