DHL Supply Chain has announced an expansion of its partnership with Suntory Beverage & Food GB&I (SBF GB&I), the makers of iconic brands Lucozade and Ribena, as part of a shared commitment to reduce carbon emissions across their supply chains.
SBF GB&I has become a GoGreen Plus customer, DHL’s advanced sustainability program, which involves investing over £1 million in low and zero-carbon transport solutions to cut CO2e emissions. The partnership extension will also see Suntory utilise DHL’s on-site co-packing services, helping to reduce road miles and further lower their environmental impact.
By integrating low-carbon fuels such as hydrotreated vegetable oils and biogas, DHL projects a potential carbon reduction of approximately 80% compared to conventional fossil fuels. This strategy is expected to deliver an annual Scope 3 emissions reduction of over 2,300 tonnes of CO2e for Suntory.
Together, DHL and SBF GB&I have enhanced supply chain efficiency by consolidating co-packing, storage, and distribution at a single location, eliminating 130,000 road miles each year and minimizing network waste.
Katharina Tomoff, Senior Vice President Global ESG at DHL Supply Chain, said: “DHL Supply Chain is constantly looking for new ways to decarbonise our business whilst also helping our customers do the same. This collaboration is a great step in the right direction for SBF GB&I and highlights the real impact strong partnerships can have when both parties have a mutual goal. We look forward to helping SBF GB&I further maximise the sustainability of their supply chain as this relationship continues to grow.” DHL Supply Chain is constantly looking for new ways to decarbonise our business whilst also helping our customers do the same.
