WARE UK, a wholesaler of cleaning and catering supplies, is set to enhance order fulfilment and dispatch operations at its new warehouse in Knowsley, northern England, with the implementation of Mecalux’s Easy WMS warehouse management system.

The move supports the company’s wider distribution and e-commerce strategy and is designed to ensure operations can scale in line with continued business growth in the Liverpool area.

According to Jon Crossfield, Operations Manager at WARE UK, the system will provide full traceability across the company’s product range, which includes janitorial supplies, tableware, glassware and packaging solutions. “Easy WMS will give us complete visibility of our stock, enabling more accurate inventory control,” he said.

The system will manage all goods movements within the warehouse. Between 10 and 12 lorries are expected to deliver goods daily, with Easy WMS classifying incoming products by family. A portion of these goods will be cross-docked and sent directly to dispatch, reducing handling times and helping speed up deliveries to customers.

Easy WMS will also streamline picking operations, one of the company’s most demanding processes. WARE UK fulfils multiple van loads of orders each day for clients in the hospitality and facilities management sectors. To improve dispatch efficiency, the software will integrate with the company’s transport management system, which automatically assigns carriers based on delivery destination.

In addition, WARE UK will deploy the Labour Management System module, an extension of Easy WMS that analyses warehouse performance. The tool will support more effective workforce planning, improved workload balancing and greater overall logistics efficiency.

The investment highlights WARE UK’s focus on technology-driven improvement and its commitment to strengthening supply chain operations as the business continues to grow.
