STILL Unveils AXL 15 iGo: First Autonomous Pallet Truck for Lorry Loading and Unloading
At LogiMAT 2026, Hamburg-based intralogistics specialist STILL is showcasing a world first: the AXL 15 iGo, the first market-ready, series-produced autonomous pallet truck designed to load and unload lorries without the need for stationary safety installations at the dock. This innovation addresses one of the final challenges in warehouse automation: handling goods at the truck loading ramp.
The AXL 15 iGo is specifically engineered for demanding dock conditions, including limited space, varying trailer geometries, extreme temperatures, and time pressures. Two trucks working in tandem can autonomously load up to 30 EPAL pallets into a trailer in about 35 minutes. A unique combination of 3D visual SLAM and LiDAR-based localization enables precise pallet placement and reliable navigation both outside and inside trailers. The system also integrates LiDAR safety scanners, cameras, and visual and acoustic alerts to detect obstacles and protect personnel.
“With the AXL 15 iGo, we are closing a long-standing gap in intralogistics by making automated truck loading and unloading standardised and widely accessible for the first time,” explains Dr Florian Heydenreich, Managing Director Sales & Service at STILL. “Our solution makes the receipt and dispatch of goods more efficient, safer, more predictable and more reliable. Standardising loading and unloading processes creates reproducible workflows. This significantly increases process stability and transparency. At the same time, it is another important pillar of our strategy to offer scalable automation solutions for all areas of intralogistics.”
Unlike traditional automated solutions, the AXL 15 iGo does not require fixed safety equipment such as scanners or reflectors at the dock, making it flexible, fast to deploy, and easy to operate. Its 1,500 kg load capacity, speed of up to 2 m/s, and integration with standard warehouse management systems via VDA 5050 or open APIs make it ideal for industries with high pallet turnover, including 3PL providers, food and retail logistics, and manufacturing.
The AXL 15 iGo demonstrates that automation has now reached the dock, completing the automation journey from high-bay warehouses and internal transport to lorry loading and unloading.
