Logistics as a Competitive Advantage:

How CHEP and Animex Foods Are Jointly Shaping the Supply Chain of the Future

Warsaw, June 11, 2026 – In a world of growing environmental requirements and increasing pressure on supply chain efficiency, long-term partnerships are becoming strategically more important than ever. The cooperation between pallet pooling expert CHEP and meat industry leader Animex Foods demonstrates that the circular economy model can effectively support both business performance and ESG objectives.

The cooperation between the two companies began in 2017 in response to a specific business need. As a rapidly growing organization, Animex was looking for a solution that would ensure operational stability in pallet management, reduce downtime, and streamline processes within a closed logistics structure.

The initial pilot project quickly demonstrated that a shared-use model based on a closed-loop system—where pallets and containers are shared and reused by different manufacturers and distributors—could become much more than a sustainable operational support solution. As the owner of the pallets, CHEP was responsible for supplying, collecting, inspecting, and repairing the load carriers used by Animex Foods, allowing the customer to focus on its core business while saving both time and costs associated with pallet management.

Over time, the cooperation expanded to additional facilities, ultimately resulting in the implementation of a consistent multi-site operating model that now supports both domestic distribution and export operations.

“At Animex Foods, we view logistics as one of the key elements in building a competitive advantage. Our partnership with CHEP allows us not only to increase operational efficiency but also to actively support the implementation of our sustainability strategy. Together, we are creating solutions that address the challenges of the future—both business and environmental,”

emphasizes Łukasz Dominiak, Director of Public and Government Relations at Animex Foods.

Following the expansion of CHEP’s services across multiple facilities, processes and reporting were unified and standardized throughout the organization, increasing transparency and improving pallet flow management across the entire network.

Today, the cooperation covers more than a dozen Animex Foods facilities and a significant volume of pallet movements. Its benefits are visible both operationally and financially. Reliable pallet availability, reduced shortages and downtime, and a consistent quality standard have resulted in greater predictability and efficiency throughout the supply chain.

As Michał Osuch, Commercial Director of CHEP Poland and the Baltic States, explains:

“Our cooperation with Animex Foods is an example of a partnership that has truly evolved. It is very important for us to create solutions that not only improve operational efficiency but also support our customers in achieving their sustainability goals.”

The partnership also involves jointly addressing challenges ranging from standardizing processes across facilities and optimizing reverse logistics flows to ensuring supply stability during periods of increased demand. Flexibility and the ability to respond quickly to changing market conditions have proven essential.

In recent years, the cooperation between the two companies has increasingly focused on sustainability initiatives, such as developing more efficient transportation models and implementing solutions including carbon-neutral pallets. CHEP’s circular economy model supports Animex Foods in reducing CO₂ emissions and waste while also helping the company meet growing ESG reporting requirements.

The cooperation between CHEP and Animex Foods demonstrates that a modern supply chain can be both efficient and environmentally responsible, and that well-designed logistics, built on transparency and communication, can become a genuine tool for creating competitive advantage.
