Fleetio and Motive Unveil Enhanced Integration to Rein in Fuel Costs and Boost Maintenance Compliance

Fleetio and Motive have announced a major enhancement to their long-standing partnership, introducing new integrated capabilities designed to help fleets better manage fuel expenses and maintenance operations. This expanded collaboration combines Motive’s AI-powered Integrated Operations Platform with Fleetio’s industry-leading fleet maintenance and optimization tools, delivering a centralized hub for fuel, maintenance, and telematics data.

With fuel and service costs accounting for nearly 75% of fleet operating budgets, managers are under increasing pressure to cut costs while keeping vehicles road-ready. The updated integration between Fleetio and Motive tackles these challenges head-on with two powerful new features:

  • Automated DVIR Sync: A fully automated, two-way Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) synchronization ensures that defect resolutions recorded in Fleetio are instantly reflected in Motive. This real-time sync reduces manual work, improves safety compliance, and maximizes both vehicle and driver uptime by preventing unsafe vehicles from being dispatched.
  • Fuel Data Sync via Motive Card: Fuel transactions made with the Motive Card are now automatically synced into Fleetio. This streamlines cost tracking, budgeting, and IFTA (International Fuel Tax Agreement) reporting—offering fleet managers a single, accurate source of truth. By linking fuel usage to driver behavior and vehicle health, fleets gain actionable insights into one of their most significant operational costs.

Since first partnering in 2018, Motive and Fleetio have worked to unify maintenance and telematics workflows—facilitating smarter scheduling, fault tracking, and real-time asset insights. With Fleetio now managing over one million assets and Motive’s extensive telematics infrastructure, this integration brings together one of the fleet industry’s most robust cross-platform datasets.

“This integration brings together fuel, telematics, and maintenance data in a way that helps companies not just react to challenges, but get ahead of them,” said Stefano Daneri, Fleet Ecosystem Strategist at Fleetio. “It’s all about turning data into action, action into uptime, and uptime into long-term performance.”

“Motive’s mission is to empower the people who run physical operations with AI-powered tools that make their work safer and more productive,” said Hemant Banavar, Chief Product Officer at Motive. “This integration advances that mission by uniting our AI-driven insights with Fleetio’s maintenance expertise—seamlessly connecting two mission-critical systems to help fleets operate at peak performance.”

Through this collaboration, the companies continue to deliver on their promise: smarter benchmarking, predictive analytics, and AI-driven automation that reduce costs, improve safety, and keep fleets operating at peak efficiency.
