PALFINGER Launches New Middle-Seat Truck-Mounted Forklift FLM 25 with Enhanced Comfort and Performance

PALFINGER, a global leader in lifting solutions, has introduced the FLM 25, the first middle-seat truck-mounted forklift in its FL range. Designed with operator comfort and operational efficiency in mind, the FLM 25 is now available throughout the EMEA region, including a fully electric version tailored for eco-friendly and quiet operations.

The FLM 25 features a centrally located, elevated seating position at 1.44 meters, offering operators an unobstructed 360° view for superior control and safety. Its innovative design includes externally routed hydraulic lines for a clear line of sight and a spacious cabin with wide roof coverage, providing excellent weather protection and a large, uncluttered footwell for unmatched comfort.

“Comfort is not just a nice-to-have, it’s essential for safe and efficient handling. With its unique middle-seat concept, the FLM 25 directly addresses a key customer need: supporting operator peace of mind while ensuring maximum safety on site”, says Gerhard Auer, Product Line Leader Special Lifting Solutions at PALFINGER.

Every control has been thoughtfully arranged to allow intuitive operation, minimizing fatigue during long shifts and maximizing productivity. PALFINGER’s commitment to safety and ease of use ensures operators can work confidently in any environment.

With a lifting capacity of 2,500 kg and a low dead weight of under 2,000 kg, the FLM 25 boasts a best-in-class payload-to-weight ratio, enhancing stability and efficiency on the job. Its design excels across varied terrains—from rough surfaces and steep slopes to narrow roads and tight urban spaces.

“Our comprehensive range of truck-mounted forklifts puts us in a very strong market position. Side-seat and middle-seat models, in both standard and 4-way versions, fully electric variants and box-mounted forklifts with remote control make us the only provider on the market to offer solutions across all categories”, says Andreas Hille, SVP Global Product Line Management and R&D at PALFINGER. “The recently introduced FL range is of great strategic value for us. Due to its modular design it meets the diverse requirements of industries such as transport and logistics, construction, infrastructure and many more. The latest addition, the FLM 25, reinforces our commitment to offer smart, comprehensive solutions for every challenge that our customers face.”

Exceptional maneuverability is supported by a 180° steering angle and 4-way steering mode, enabling precise handling of long loads in confined areas. Telescopic forks further enhance flexibility, allowing unloading from the truck’s second row. The forklift also features a ground control function for safe and easy operation when mounting or dismounting from trucks.

Both middle-seat (FLM) and side-seat (FLS) models of the FL series offer easy access to service points, simplifying daily inspections and maintenance. This design translates into increased uptime, reduced service costs, and longer machine lifespan.

PALFINGER’s “one-stop shop” approach delivers a complete package of innovative machinery, digital tools, and professional after-sales service, ensuring reliable and efficient operation throughout the forklift’s lifecycle.

The FLM 25 is offered with either a diesel engine or as a fully electric model. The electric version is ideal for urban and nighttime operations, delivering quiet, low-emission performance with a maximum system output of up to 26.3 kW. It also features an impressively low dead weight—up to 10% lighter than comparable electric truck-mounted forklifts.

The forklift is equipped with PALFINGER’s CONNECTED plus+ system, which provides real-time fleet management data. Operators and fleet managers can track forklift locations, monitor charging processes, and integrate data with existing fleet management platforms for enhanced operational control.

Following the launch of the FLM 25, PALFINGER plans to expand the FLM series with the FLM 15, a lighter forklift model optimized for the beverage and retail sectors, set to debut by the end of 2025.
