Radius Enhances UK EV Charging Access with Sainsbury’s Collaboration

Radius is set to significantly enhance its electric vehicle (EV) charging network across the United Kingdom with a new partnership with Sainsbury’s Smart Charge. The collaboration will offer customers with a Fuelplus Hybrid card access to over 650 ultra-rapid EV chargers located at 79 Sainsbury’s stores nationwide.

This expansion brings customers the convenience of charging stations capable of delivering up to 150 kWh, allowing EVs to charge to full capacity using 100% renewable energy in as little as 30 minutes. The move is part of Radius’s ongoing commitment to improving EV infrastructure, growing its network to a total of more than 33,500 charging points across the UK.

Emma Williams, Director of Commercial & Customer at Smart Charge, commented: “We’re looking forward to welcoming Radius customers and giving them access to a reliable and rewarding ultra-rapid charging experience, where they can also make use of the amenities Sainsbury’s has to offer. This partnership represents another critical step in our ambition to make EV charging simple and accessible to all.”

Matt Kirby, Managing Director for EV at Radius, said: “We are excited for this partnership with a brand trusted and recognised by all that will help drive the transition to a more sustainable future.”

The latest partnership builds upon an earlier collaboration between Radius and Sainsbury’s. In November 2020, the two companies joined forces to add over 300 Sainsbury’s fuel stations to the Radius UK Fuels network, further expanding access to eco-friendly fueling options.
