SSI SCHAEFER and Moffett Automation have announced a strategic partnership aimed at delivering free-roaming pallet shuttle systems for high-performance warehouse environments. The collaboration brings together SSI SCHAEFER’s global expertise in intralogistics system integration with Moffett Automation’s high-density pallet storage solutions and free-roaming shuttle technology.

The partnership is designed to help warehouse operators deploy scalable, flexible automation solutions that can perform efficiently even in space-constrained or structurally complex facilities. According to the companies, many businesses face challenges such as low ceiling heights, irregular layouts, or extreme operating conditions, which can slow or prevent the adoption of automation. The combined solution seeks to address these barriers.

At the core of the offering are compact, intelligent pallet shuttles capable of moving independently through aisles, cross-aisles, and multiple levels. The free-roaming shuttles dynamically select the most efficient routes and are engineered to deliver high throughput, including in demanding deep-freeze environments. Their multidirectional movement and compact design enable optimal use of available warehouse space while maintaining cost efficiency across varying throughput requirements.
