Swisslog Launches AgileStore 4-Way Shuttle to Boost Flexible, High-Density Pallet Storage

Swisslog, a leading provider of data-driven warehouse automation technology, has expanded its pallet ASRS (Automated Storage and Retrieval System) portfolio with the AgileStore 4-way shuttle, a next-generation roaming pallet shuttle designed to maximize storage density, optimize space, and enable fully automated, flexible material flows.

The AgileStore system complements Swisslog’s existing PowerStore bi-directional shuttle and Vectura pallet stacker crane, completing its pallet ASRS offering. The 4-way shuttle can travel multidirectionally—forward, backward, cross-aisle, and vertically—allowing independent movement across the warehouse and improved pallet handling.

“Warehouses today need automation systems that go beyond traditional shuttle limitations,” said Alexander Leitner, EVP Strategy & Markets, Swisslog. “The roaming pallet shuttle moves across aisles and levels, enabling efficient pallet handling, and scalable performance as storage needs evolve.”

Ideal for warehouses with irregular layouts or mixed SKU environments, AgileStore provides high-density storage without structural modifications. Integrated lift systems move both shuttles and pallets across racking levels, supporting efficient load transfer, dynamic routing, and workload balancing, while reducing manual interventions.

“With its reliable performance in both ambient and deepfreeze environments, AgileStore delivers the versatility that today’s diverse warehouse operations demand,” said Maurizio Traversa, CEO Eurofork.

Swisslog has partnered with Eurofork to supply the roaming pallet shuttle technology, which has already seen multiple deployments worldwide. AgileStore handles a wide range of pallet types and loads up to 1,500 kg, operating in ambient and cold storage conditions down to -30 °C, making it suitable for food & beverage, grocery, and 3PL operations.

The system integrates seamlessly with Swisslog’s software ecosystem, including SynQ and standard WMS platforms, providing real-time control, accurate inventory visibility, and advanced traffic management across shuttles and lifts. Its modular, WiFi-enabled architecture ensures scalable, coordinated, and safe warehouse operations.
