PLP Secures Planning Approval for 700,000 sq ft Logistics Development in Nottingham
PLP has secured reserved matters planning consent for a 700,000 sq ft industrial and logistics development in Nottingham, paving the way for a three-unit Grade A logistics campus targeted for completion in the fourth quarter of 2027.
Ashfield District Council granted approval for PLP Nottingham, a speculative development spanning 65 acres in the Midlands’ Golden Triangle, one of the UK’s key logistics locations.
Situated immediately adjacent to Junction 27 of the M1 motorway, the site offers direct access to major transport routes and is positioned to reach approximately 85% of the UK population within a four-hour drive. Nottingham, Derby and Mansfield are also within close proximity.
The development will comprise three units of varying sizes to accommodate a range of industrial and logistics occupiers. Unit 1 will provide 459,000 sq ft, Unit 2 will offer 69,000 sq ft, and Unit 3 will comprise 172,000 sq ft, bringing the total development area to 700,000 sq ft.
PLP Nottingham has been designed to provide flexible, high-quality warehouse and industrial space, with all three units set to be delivered to a market-leading specification incorporating sustainability features.
The scheme will also offer up to 8 MVA of power capacity, providing an additional feature for businesses seeking modern logistics facilities with substantial energy requirements.
The development is expected to expand the supply of Grade A logistics space in the Midlands, offering occupiers access to a strategically located site with strong motorway connectivity and facilities designed to meet evolving operational requirements.
Joe Beasley, Development Director at PLP said:
‘PLP is committed to delivering prime, best-in-class industrial and logistics space in undersupplied UK sub-markets. PLP Nottingham will provide a range of high-quality unit sizes tailored to the requirements of both local and national occupiers. We look forward to bringing forward this scheme, adjacent to junction 27 of the M1, in a core region of the UK industrial and logistics market.’
