Alsendo makes its first acquisition in Western Europe – Italian brand Spedire.com joins the group

Alsendo, a leading technology platform supporting shipping process management, announces its first acquisition in Western Europe. The group is joined by Spedire.com and SpedirePRO – leading Italian services offering domestic and international courier solutions. This is a strategic move toward building a pan-European leader in logistics and e-commerce technology. The value of the transaction is EUR 5.5 million.

This acquisition aligns perfectly with Alsendo’s buy-and-build strategy, focused on consolidating the fragmented shipping solutions market and expanding cross-border services across Europe. It strengthens Alsendo’s position as one of the most dynamic Polish tech companies in the logistics sector.

“At Alsendo, our goal is to become the leading European platform for delivery and shipping service management. We are consistently strengthening our position in logistics technology, leveraging experience gained in the competitive markets of Central and Eastern Europe. We are ready to scale our model into Western Europe – entering Italy and partnering with Spedire is the first step on our pan-European growth path,”
says Magdalena Magnuszewska, CEO of Alsendo.

The Italian parcel market – with an annual volume of around 1.1 billion, similar to Poland – remains highly fragmented, especially in the shipping platform segment. Local players dominate, with Poste Italiane as the market leader. Logistics infrastructure is still developing, accelerated by the entry of InPost into Italy in November 2024. The share of PUDO (Pick-Up Drop-Off) points and parcel lockers remains significantly lower than in CEE countries. At the same time, Italy has a relatively high share of international shipments – approximately 13.5% – highlighting strong demand for cross-border services, which is a key growth pillar for Alsendo’s tech strategy.

“The Italian market is still in the early stages of APM (Automated Parcel Machine) infrastructure development. However, its scale and strong presence of international e-retailers – especially in fashion and cosmetics – create excellent conditions for developing our digital solutions such as Innoship and BusinessPro, as well as international services. Spedire is a perfect fit for our expansion strategy,”
adds Magnuszewska.

Spedire.com and SpedirePRO are innovative logistics solutions created by Esite, a company operating for over 10 years and handling more than 400,000 shipments annually. The platforms partner with top carriers like UPS, Poste Italiane, FedEx, and InPost, offering a wide range of services – from pick-up/drop-off points to cash-on-delivery and three-party deliveries – all backed by robust customer service. They are designed for both individual and business clients, supporting thousands of Italian companies in managing domestic and international shipments.

“Joining the Alsendo Group is a natural step in our development. In recent years, we’ve focused on technological innovation and expanding our service offering. Now, as part of a larger group with international expertise, we’re in a stronger position to scale the business, strengthen our presence in Italy, and deliver even more value to our clients – especially companies that require advanced and reliable shipping solutions,”
says Luca Lorenzini, CEO and founder of Spedire.com and SpedirePRO.

Over the past three years, Alsendo has completed several acquisitions in the CEE region (including Siusk24 and Cargobooking in Lithuania, Zaslat in the Czech Republic, and Innoship and Ecolet in Romania), solidifying its leadership in Poland. Today, the Group operates across nearly the entire EU, providing integrated technological and operational last-mile logistics solutions to hundreds of thousands of business clients in almost 10 European countries.

Entering the Italian market marks the next step in Alsendo’s international expansion, made possible by strategic support from Abris Capital Partners, the company’s majority shareholder since 2020. Esite, developed in partnership with Triboo S.p.A., one of Italy’s leading e-commerce and digital service groups, brings not only local expertise to the group but also a strong technological foundation. The synergy of competencies and shared vision for further market consolidation allows Alsendo to take another confident step toward building a next-generation, integrated pan-European logistics platform.
